XENIA, OH: A southwest Ohio couple is recovering after the motorcycle they were riding was hit from behind by a State Highway Patrol trooper’s vehicle.
The accident on U.S. 35 near Xenia on Saturday night is under investigation. Authorities say the riders were spared from serious injuries because they were wearing helmets.
Corey Waldman tells WDTN-TV in Dayton that he knows it was an accident and wants the trooper to know that he forgives him. Waldman suffered a broken foot and other injuries and was hospitalized. His wife, Amy, also was hospitalized and was released Sunday.
Authorities have identified the trooper as 30-year-old Jacob Daymon. He wasn’t seriously hurt, but authorities said he was visibly upset about the accident.
