Truck spills load of pancake syrup on highway after hitting Buttermilk Pike overpass

Associated Press

FORT MITCHELL, KY.: Drivers on Interstate 75 in northern Kentucky found a sticky situation on the road after a semitrailer spilled an entire load of pancake syrup on the southbound lanes.

Fort Mitchell Police Officer Mark Spanyer told the Kentucky Enquirer that the spill amounted to “a royal pain in the butt.”

Spanyer said the spill happened late Thursday when the truck traveling northbound swerved to avoid a car with a blown-out tire. The truck went into the median and slammed into the overpass at Buttermilk Pike, ripping the trailer in half.

That sent an entire load of Log Cabin pancake syrup splattering onto the southbound lanes.

The road reopened at about 2:45 EDT Friday.

No charges have been filed in the wreck.
