Twinsburg man guilty of child porn charges

Beacon Journal staff report

AKRON: A 24-year-old Twinsburg man was convicted by a Summit County jury Friday on eight felony counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, authorities said.

Alan D. Christian will be sentenced Sept. 16 by visiting Judge Robert Brown.

Four of the convictions were second degree felonies that carry prison terms of two to eight years. The other convictions carry sentences between six and 18 months.

In March 2010, prosecutors said the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was conducting a search for child pornography and discovered an Internet provider address, which had been using the peer-to-peer, file-sharing network, “Limewire,” to download and share graphic child porn.

The information was passed on to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. State investigators, in a search of the computer to which the IP address belonged, found numerous files containing child porn.

Prosecutors said Christian owned the computer and kept it in his bedroom.
