Akron police report two juvenile boys were injured in a crash early Monday after leading patrol officers on a short chase.
The car the boys were in took off as police attempted to stop them, Beacon Journal news partner WEWS reported.
The chase lasted only a minute before the driver crashed the car, hitting a fire hydrant and then a tree on Snyder Street.
The passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, while the driver was walking around and talking to police before being transported to a hospital to be checked out.
No information was available about the owner of the car or whether the driver had a driver’s license.
