CANTON: The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested two men suspected in a seven-county theft ring.
Authorities say a tip from Jackson Township and a subsequent burglary in Harrison County led to the arrests of two Canton men.
Casey C. Gowins, 38, initially has been charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher M. Reed, 32, is charged with a parole violation.
Authorities say additional charges are pending.
A series of search warrants, police say, has uncovered numerous stolen items. Among the items recovered: $25,000, 90 firearms, jewelry, watches, foreign currency, electronics, a ballistic vest, crossbows and other items.
Authorities believe the pair targeted homes in Stark, Wayne, Carroll, Tuscarawas, Harrison, Holmes and Columbiana counties.
