Beacon Journal staff report

Two Akron teens are accused of assaulting a woman while stealing her purse Tuesday afternoon.

The woman, 51, suffered injuries to her right arm, leg and ankle during the attack that took place about 4:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Portage Trail.

The woman told police she was walking to her car in the CVS parking lot when the teens approached and grabbed her purse.

The woman held onto to her purse and was dragged through the parking lot before the boys ran off with her purse, police said.

Officers said they found the suspects at the Waterford Court Apartments.

The boys, 16 and 14, are charged with robbery and obstructing official business. They were being held in the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
