Video depicts Akron shoplifter

Akron police have released a video depicting a shoplifter who threatened a Chapel Hill store worker before fleeing.

The video shot inside the Burlington Coat Factory on Howe Avenue was recorded March 22 by store security camera.

In the video, a man appears to conceal a pair of athletic shoes, worth $29.99, inside his coat. Police say that once the man was confronted, he threatened a 26-year-old female security officer that he would “knock you out” and then fled.

The man is in his late 30s and has gray specks in his beard. He is wearing an black Air Jordan coat, a red long-sleeved T-shirt, red stocking cap and black jogging pants.
