AKRON: A water pipe broke inside an Akron apartment complex early Thursday morning and blew a small hole in the building, sending water shooting 100 feet out into the street.
City firefighters responded to the scene at 12:10 a.m. at the Paul E. Belcher Apartments on Locust Street.
The pipe, located in the lobby area, has been fixed. The sheer force of the water knocked down some ceiling tiles, caused some water damage inside and put a small hole in the building, a fire spokesman said.
No individual apartments were affected, he said.
A damage estimate was not yet available.
