Wind chill warning expires across region Wednesday

Beacon Journal staff report

A wind chill warning remains in effect for the Akron area and Northeast Ohio until 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chill readings as low as 40 degrees below zero were expected through Wednesday morning, though temperatures began to rise overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

A wind chill warning is issued when the wind will make it feel like it is 25 degrees below zero or colder for several hours, creating dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. The weather service advises those planning to venture outdoors to use common sense and dress warmly.
