Beacon Journal staff report

Get your shovels and sleds ready to go.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Northeast Ohio — including Summit, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne counties — as a storm is expected to dump several inches of snow on the region Saturday. The advisory is in effect from midnight Friday until 10 p.m. Saturday and calls for 5 to 7 inches of snow across the area.

The wintry weather is expected to move from west to east overnight and last for about 24 hours.

Drivers should be cautious as roads will be slick and visibility will be low at times, the weather advisory said.
