Woman injured in early morning crash Wednesday in Green

Beacon Journal staff report

GREEN: A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured early Wednesday when her vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.

She was ejected from the vehicle, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said.

The woman, who was not immediately identified, lost control of the blue Dodge Avenger while traveling west on Koons Road shortly before 1 a.m.

She was taken to an area hospital, where she remains in serious but stable condition, said Bill Holland, an inspector at the sheriff’s office.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.

Koons Road was closed for about three hours.
