Woman robs woman of $400

An Akron woman punched another woman in the face, then stole $400 from her, police said.

The victim, 49, told police she was in a parking lot at the corner of Stanton Avenue and South Main Street about 3 a.m. Saturday when the assailant asked for change.

The victim said she only had a $20 bill and then was assaulted, she told police. While on the ground, the robber took cash from the victim’s pants pockets.

The victim suffered a bloody nose but declined medical treatment.

She told police the robber was in her late 40s and wore gray pants and a gray shirt.
