Woodridge High School is closed Friday due to a gas leak.
The school district sent out a call blast to families informing them of situation.
Here is the transcript of that message from the Woodridge Local Schools website:
“Good morning. This is Walter Davis, Superintendent of the Woodridge Local Schools. Yesterday evening, maintenance staff and fans attending the girls basketball game at the high school noticed the strong smell of natural gas in the building. The high school was quickly evacuated as the Cuyahoga Falls fire crews were dispatched. Throughout the evening and well into the night, workers from the gas company worked to locate the problem. Very early this morning, the gas company shut the building down due to what appears to be multiple gas leaks just outside the building. As such, Woodridge High School will be closed today, Friday February 21. The Primary, Intermediate and Middle Schools will be open today. Again, Woodridge High School is closed today.”
The school was also closed due to a gas leak on Feb. 3. Read the Beacon Journal report from that incident here.
