Joshua J. Smith of Akron was charged Wednesday with burglary after he entered his ex-girlfriend's Tenth Street home, hid in a closet and ... fell asleep.
Akron police Lt. Rick Edwards said Smith, 25, of Davis Street, entered his the home while she was away September 29 and hid in a closet.
When she arrived at home, she went to bed not knowing Smith was in the closet.
Police say when she awoke the next morning, she opened the closet door, smelled the odor of beer and found Smith inside the closet.
Smith fled the residence leaving his shoes which were recovered by police and tagged into evidence.
Police said it was the second time he had illegally entered the home.
