Green-based Guard unit returning from Kosovo

A Green-based Ohio Army National Guard unit is returning home after a nearly yearlong deployment to Kosovo.

A welcome-home ceremony for the Guard's Company D, 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, which has been supporting Kosovo forces, will be held at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 5 at The Chapel in Green, 1800 Raber Road.

The unit, with more than 90 soldiers, mobilized on June 7, 2006. It completed five months of training at Camp Atterbury, Ind.; Camp Shelby, Miss., and Hohenfels, Germany, before arriving in Kosovo on Nov. 18, 2006.
