COLUMBUS: Ohio's top elections official on Wednesday unveiled a free online training program for poll workers.
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner says the program is available to all county boards of elections in Ohio. The program is voluntary and intended to be a supplement to training given by county elections boards.
The announcement comes a month before Ohio's presidential primary, scheduled for March 4th.
The program teaches poll workers how to open and close poll locations, how to confirm that someone is on the voter list and other procedures.
It is being partly funded through a $128,000 grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts. The state is spending $60,000 on the effort.
The training program can be viewed at www.ohioelectiontraining.com.
