The 35-year-old man arrested a week ago after an explosion in the backyard of his home will be back in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court Tuesday to face additional charges.
Jason Peltz, whom police accuse of making fireworks, was charged Wednesday with illegally manufacturing or processing explosives, and bond was set at $250,000. Peltz pleaded not guilty.
Peltz is in the Macedonia Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned again via video at 1:30 p.m. today.
Police said further investigation led to more charges, but they would not elaborate on the charges.
Police said that about 30 pounds of flash powder and other explosive compounds were removed from the house at 620 Harper Lane by experts brought in after the explosion.
Peltz also has a preliminary hearing in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court at 3 p.m. Wednesday before Judge Lisa Coates.
