Teen with BB gun arrested for trying to rob woman

A Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. worker drove off as a gunman tapped his weapon on her car window, police said.

Akron police responded and arrested a teen, who is accused of trying to rob the worker with a BB gun.

It happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday as the woman was leaving work. She told police two teens followed her to her car and one tapped a gun on her window, demanding money. The woman put her car in drive and sped away.

Xavier Franklin, 15, of Akron was arrested at the corner of Goodyear Boulevard and Martha Avenue and charged with robbery. A 14-year-old stopped with Franklin was not charged.
