Akron man dies after fight

An Akron man involved in a fight near his home earlier this month has died.

Thomas Rondy, 56, died Wednesday at Akron City Hospital.

He was involved in a fight with another man on May 6 near his Pondview Avenue home. Afterward, he was taken to the hospital's emergency room due to a head injury.

His death has been ruled a homicide, said Summit County Medical Examiner spokesman Joe Orlando.

Akron police have interviewed several witnesses, including the person Rondy fought, and the case remains an open investigation.
