BEREA: Cleveland Browns defensive back Daven Holly suffered a knee injury in a drill at the Browns training complex on Tuesday.
The team described the injury as major Wednesday and said more details would be given later.
Holly, a four-year NFL veteran from the University of Cincinnati, played in 15 games for the Browns in 2007, with six starts. He made 47 tackles and broke up nine passes.
His best professional season was 2006 56 tackles, five interceptions and 13 pass break-ups. He returned one interception for a touchdown and also returned a fumble for a touchdown.
Holly was expected to compete with Brandon McDonald for a starting position in the secondary.
