A substitute teacher on a long-term assignment at Akron's Buchtel High School was placed on unpaid leave last week after being charged with corruption of a minor and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Albert J. Calabrese III, 24, of Kent, was arrested last week after Hudson police received a report involving Calabrese and a 14-year-old girl from Hudson.
Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker Jr. said today that Calabrese and the girl allegedly chatted via the Internet, then met at a Hudson area movie theater and drove to a Stow parking lot, where the alleged incident took place May 17.
Connie Hathorn, the Akron Public Schools executive director of human resources, said Calabrese was placed on leave without pay pending further investigation.
Calabrese is free on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond. He is to appear at a hearing June 3 in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
