A Ohio Insurance Institute review claims from the June 2007 hailstorm in the Akron area reveals that losses set a record for the state.
Original estimates of damage from the June 7 storm put losses at about $105 million. A review of claims put the actual losses at about $288 million.
Damage claims covered everything from homes to vehicles.
The claims makes the Akron-area storm the most costly for hail damage in state history.
