CANTON: The Better Business Bureau accuses an Ohio company of running a misleading ad campaign for a TV set-top box called ''Miracle ClearView.''

In newspaper ads across the U.S., Universal TechTronics has claimed its boxes are free and enable the viewer to access free television channels and services.

The BBB says it found the product actually costs about $100 — what consumers are required to pay for a five-year-warranty and shipping and handling.

Furthermore, the organization says it believes the devices are merely digital TV converter boxes that consumers can buy with a government coupon for only about $20.

Universal TechTronics also does business as Heat Surge. A message for comment left at the company's Canton offices was not immediately returned.
