Sink hole prompts closing of Furnace Street in Akron

Akron work crews have closed a section of Furnace Street from Summit Street to North Street to repair a sink hole.

According to the Akron police traffic bureau, the sink hole was discovered around 5:30 this morning.

The hole, which is suspected to be related to a water-main break, caused a minor accident when a car drove into it.

No one was injured in the accident, according to a police dispatcher.
