The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area until 8 p.m.
Twenty-eight counties in Northern Ohio, including Summit, Portage, Medina, Wayne and Stark, are warned that possibly severe showers and thunderstorms are likely.
Locally, heavy rainfall is possible this evening, the weather service said.
