The Summit County Drug Unit and Copley police arrested a man for growing hydroponic marijuana in a Copley Road apartment complex Tuesday.
Acting on anonymous complaints, authorities used a search warrant to seize and dismantle the operation and arrested Eric Johnson, 30, in a home in the 2100 block of Copley Road after a month long investigation.
Officers said they detected the odor of marijuana coming from an apartment in the complex and a K-9 unit was also alerted to the odor.
When authorities entered the apartment, they discovered the entire residence was being used for the operation. Thirty-five marijuana plants were being grown using hydroponic equipment.
Investigators also seized paraphernalia used to convert powder cocaine to crack cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine and a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
Johnson was charged with cultivation and possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and weapon under disability.
The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending, said the Summit County Sheriff's office.
Johnson has previous felony convictions, police said.
