A woman leaving a Grant Street bar early this morning said three men approached her, pulled out a gun and demanded her purse, Akron police said.
The woman told police that she left Thirsty's Pub at 1309 Grant St. at about 2 a.m. She said one of the men three men who stopped her put a gun to her side.
The woman told police that her friend, who was waiting for her to get off work, approached the group after he saw the men talking to her.
The friend grabbed the gun and took it away from the assailant before the three men fled through the back parking lot of the bar.
The gun was turned over to the police.
One man is described as black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Police said he has a gold ''grill'' on his teeth and was wearing all dark clothing.
The second man is described as black, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He has braided hair and a goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black paints.
The third man is described as black, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has a goatee and was wearing all dark clothing.
