Fire destroys barn

By Beacon Journal staff report

A Barlow Road barn was destroyed by a fire Tuesday afternoon, Hudson fire officials said.

The fire, called in by people at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course at 4:06 p.m., drew firefighters from Boston Heights and Valley Fire District for mutual aid.

The barn is owned by Robert Chilton, who was not at home at the time of the fire.

Flames were shooting through the roof of the 20 by 30 foot building when fire officials arrived on the scene.

Barlow Road was blocked for two hours while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and overhaul the area of the fire.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, officials said.
