ATHENS: Authorities say they have evacuated the downtowns of two small towns in southeast Ohio after the discovery of what appeared to be unexploded pipe bombs outside the local post offices.
An Athens County sheriff's dispatcher says authorities called in a Columbus bomb squad for assistance at the scenes in Guysville and Stewart Tuesday morning.
Fire officials and the American Red Cross set up evacuation sites at a Marathon service station in Guysville and a high school in Stewart.
Authorities have not commented on whether there may be any link to other explosives found Thursday at three sites in nearby Nelsonville, including one device that blew out the window of a camera shop. Three young men have been charged in those incidents.
