After about two years in the job, Revere school Superintendent Elisabeth McNicholas is resigning.
McNicholas will take a job with the Rittman school district in Wayne County, effective Sept. 15.
Revere school board members ''will be looking for an interim superintendent immediately,'' said a news release issued by the district.
McNicholas will join Jon Ritchie, former Revere superintendent, in Rittman.
Ritchie left the affluent Revere district in 2006 to take the superintendent's post in the Orrville district in Wayne County. This year, he added Rittman's top job to his responsibilities as well.
A news release issued by Revere schools did not say what McNicholas' job will be in the Wayne district.
Revere school board members named McNicholas superintendent last June in a split vote.
Her initial annual salary was $108,000.
Two of the five Revere board members said then that they preferred another candidate who was a finalist in the first of two searches.
McNicholas had been Revere's interim superintendent since September 2006.
