Worker killed in fall from high school roof

By Beacon Journal staff report

A Canton construction worker died this morning after falling through the roof of Minerva High School in Stark County.

Ricci Dolph, 54, of Navarre Road Southwest, an employee of R&F Systems, was putting a new roof above the school's gymnasium about 6:30 a.m. when he fell 25 feet to the gym floor.

He was taken to Aultman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m., Stark County coroner's investigator Rick Walters said.

Dolph was not wearing a safety belt when the accident occurred, Walters said.

Stark County Coroner Dr. P.S. Murphy will perform an autopsy later today or Wednesday, Walters said.

Students will go back to school in Minerva next week.
