American families were rocked by the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. But with John McCain and his lobbyists in charge, it could have been even worse. In a recent interview, McCain suggested deregulating health insurance companies and handing them an unsupervised blank check in his own words just "as we have done over the last decade in banking." His policies have made taxpayers responsible for the largest federal bailout in history -- we can't let John McCain and his Washington cronies sell out American health care. McCain advisers Phil Gramm and Rick Davis, lobbyists for the banking and home mortgage industries, got rich off of peddling these disastrous policies. Can American families really afford more of the same? McCain may call himself a "reformer," but there's nothing maverick about handing taxpayers the bill for the mess his policies made.

Felicia, very factually-incorrect post. You can lie to yourself, but please don't lie to the others here.

MCSAME, doesn't care or doesn't get it, we are not stupid. Does anyone out here know that Mcsame was part of the Keating 5 back in 1989, it was 5 senators that robbed millions of dollars from tax payers and he got away with that scandal then and here it is 20 years later and now he's part of this scandal with Fannie Mae and the Wall street collapse. Wake the hell up America, this guy cares nothing about you and I, all he cares about is the rich and the hell with the little guy. Here's where that money went: 7 to 10 homes, while you and I struggle to to make ends meet, 13 cars and 2 private jets.

yes I remember the Keating 5, wish the news media would talk about it more and ask the tough questions of McSame Jason,,, think you need to review your facts and about your candidate and how this whole issue could have been avoid if not for greed of the republicans and their supporters.

Yes, I remember the Keating 5 scandal. And I remember the prosecutor recommended that the charges against John McCain be dropped because they were unsubstantiated. However the Democrat controlled Senate could not have a scandal involving just Democrat Senators, so the charges were not dropped and McCain got a slap on the wrist for his role. He then learned from this experience and has been a champion of government reforms to ensure this type of situation did not occur again, not just to him but to any Senator. Might be nice to read up on these "scandals" and the underlying politics of them before posting nonsense. What has Dohbama learned from his experience within the Chicago Political Machine? Chicago Annenburg Challenge? Bill Ayers? Reverend Wright?

Here is the Senator McCain quote, placed in full context, rather than the misquoted hack job as told by O'Dumba or the DNC. What is the horror that Senator McCain supported in banking and also in health care? Our right to shop for banking or health care without being hampered by state boundaries: "I would also allow individuals to choose to purchase health insurance across state lines, when they can find more affordable and attractive products elsewhere that they prefer. Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation. Consumer-friendly insurance policies will be more available and affordable when there is greater competition among insurers on a level playing field. You should be able to buy your insurance from any willing provider." That certainly sounds a lot different from the distorted version propagated by O'Dumba, the DNC and Felicia.

The only reason the politicians are concerned is because the are the ones who invested in Fannie and Freddie! This so-called The White House warned of this in 2003 and was voted down.

McCain & Palin remind me of Frick & Frack or Laurel & Hardy. They don't go anywhere without each other. They say no thanks to earmarks, but thanks to the lobbyists money for their campaign. Never in the history of this country has two people been so unqualified to be President & VP. It was good to see Obama & Biden up 8 points in today's polls plus the Dem's with a potential 58-42 senate and 241-194 house after the latest polling. That will make change happen and kick them Neo Conservative Republicans right in their wallets as the middle class becomes strong again.

Tom, McSame and Bulldog don't need the DNC, OBAMA or myself to tell the American people who and what they are, they do a very well job on there own. Example: Katie Couric set the stage, my god Palin looked and sounded like a mindless face women, and McCain was thinking, "What have I done", when Katie was asking him about Palins Depression answers. These two did more damage in one night too them selves than any Obama attack adds could have every done.
