BEREA: Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow missed his second consecutive day of practice and the team is sending him to the doctor for tests on an unspecified ''illness.''
Winslow, whose career has been slowed by injuries, has been sick for two days, Browns coach Romeo Crennel said. Crennel would not say what was wrong with Winslow or if he would be able to play in Monday night's game against the New York Giants.
''He's a valuable piece to the puzzle,'' Crennel said Thursday. ''I know he'll want to play and he'll do everything he can to play.''
Winslow caught 82 passes and made the Pro Bowl last season. So far this year, he has 19 catches and one touchdown for the Browns (1-3), who are off to a disappointing start.
The 25-year-old has undergone four knee surgeries since entering the league. He also missed the entire 2005 season after a near-fatal motorcycle accident.
