Employees of the Ellet Post Office will serve their 16th annual Thanksgiving dinner to anyone unable to be with family or friends on Thursday.
The free meal, sponsored by the Ellet Amateur Athletic Association and members of the community, will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the association's building, 2204 E. Market St.
For information, call the Akron Post Office at 330-996-9942.
The tradition of providing a Thanksgiving Day dinner began in 1993 when the Ellet postal workers won a $250 on-the-job safety award from the U.S. Postal Service. The postal service employees chose to use the award as seed money for a Thanksgiving dinner.
In recent years, the dinner has attracted more than 500 people. About 125 people showed up for the inaugural dinner.

Let's hope the food shows up in better shape than my mail!
