Billy Joel and Elton John will play May 23 in Cleveland

By Malcolm X Abram
Beacon Journal pop music writer

LiveNation announced today that Billy Joel and Elton John are bringing their 2009 Face 2 Face tour to Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena on May 23.

The pair of piano men have toured together periodically since 1994.

The current iteration of the Face 2 Face tour will follow the format of previous versions, featuring Joel and John opening the show together, playing twin pianos in a series of duets. Each artist then will perform a set with his own band, followed by a grand finale featuring both artists and their bands onstage.

Tickets for the concert are $51.50, $100 and $180 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster locations and Livenation.com.
