Ohio lawmaker sues governor for schools plan

By Associated Press

COLUMBUS: A lawmaker has filed a lawsuit to force Gov. Ted Strickland to reveal more details of his plan for funding Ohio schools.

Rep. Seth Morgan, a Republican from suburban Dayton, sued in the Ohio Supreme Court today to require the governor to comply with the state's open records law.

Morgan sits on the committee reviewing the schools plan and previously requested information from Strickland about the way he came up with his education proposal.

Morgan says Republicans are frustrated with what he calls the lack of transparency by the Strickland administration when it comes to its school plan.

Democrat Strickland has said he's being completely open and disagrees with critics who say he isn't providing enough information about the proposal.

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled not once, not twice, not three times but rather four times that is was unconstitutional to use property taxes to fund the public school system. Gov. Bob Tax did nothing and I won't hold my breath on Gov. Ted Stricknine to act either.

Pass a law that states that renters must also pay the same amount of property tax as their landlords have to pay on the place they are living in. I'll bet we will see a decrease in levy passages right quickly.

If you want your kid to bounce a ball in sshool then YOU pay for it!
