An autopsy is scheduled for today.

It is unfortunate that this man passed away but a large question remains. Was he wearing a helmet?

I'd like to know the answer to Mars' question.

With or without a helmet, talk about a freak accident...

What a bummer! Maybe the City of Canton will use some that stimulus money to make improvements on the decrepit sidewalks. How high was that clay sewer pipe sticking out that it could hit his pedal of his bike?

Why is there so much concern about his helmet? If you find out he wasn't are you going to stand on your soapbox? A family lost their loved one and no moot point can change that.

Whats the big deal about a helmet. Most of us made it this far without a helmet when we rode our bikes. People get killed when wearing helmets also.

@ MyersS and Razor, as an avid cyclist I know that statistically I stand a far better chance of surviving a wreck with a helmet than without.

It's kind of like a seatbelt. People die wearing them too, but far more survive because of them.
