The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Summit, Portage, Wayne and Medina counties from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday.
A cold front will sweep across the region late Saturday morning and strong winds will develop behind the front and will persist until shortly after sunset Saturday evening.
Sustained west-to-southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph can be expected with gusts to 50 mph, especially along the Lake Erie shore.
A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range from 46 to 57 mph. Winds of this magnitude may cause minor property damage without extra precautions.
Motorists in high-profile vehicles should use caution until the winds subside, the weather service advises.
