Falls police raid reputed heroin house

By Beacon Journal staff

Two people were arrested this morning after Cuyahoga Falls police and federal authorities raided a 25th Street home where they said heroin was being sold.

The Falls police narcotics unit teamed with the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in executing a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of 25th Street.

Two people inside the home were charged with possession of heroin. Neither is accused of trafficking, although police said the investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.

Nathan J. Dial, 25, was charged with possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments. Amber L. Harvey, 23, faces the same charges.

During the search, police say they seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes, multiple plastic sandwich bags, smoking devices, items with white powder residue, miscellaneous papers, a digital camera and cell phones.

Amber L Harvey's... life
Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Trespass, Drug Abuse,
And she seemed like such a good girl.

Now Nathan J Dial has way too many cases to post, the cops will be glad he's off the street. Thanks for taking out the trash Violent Fugitive Task Force!!

@RealDeal Of course they seized the plastic sandwich bags, what do you think they were putting the heroin in? More than likely junkies don't bring their own environmentally friendly heroin storage containers so I'm guessing the plastic sandwich bags would have to do.

If little Johnny and Tyrone want to purchase illegal narcotics that will last a week and only have $200,
where will they get their drugs and what will their sentences be if they get caught?

Akron = crack and meth / 10 - 15 years

Cuyahoga Falls = heroin / 2 years because the dealer had a real good attorney

Hudson = ecstasy / probation because the dealers father is a real good attorney.

Class dismissed.

Many big dealers live in the Falls. There is drugs on every block in Cuyahoga Falls, don;t kid yourselves.

Nice detective work Bob. Although as I'm sure you know, since all of Ms. Harvey's charges were in municipal court none were/are felonies. Felonies are the exclusive jurisdiction of the common pleas court in the county where the defendant resides.

I'm wondering why the federal marshalls got involved? Only way is if they thought these two were dealers rather than the petty users it turns out they truly are. Too bad for the defendants; now the feds will charge them for possession as well as facing state charges.

@Bikergirl: To pursue obtaining a search warrant one must have overwhelming evidence that illegal/illicit activity is/has occurred. If you read correctly, the article states that the Falls PD was pursuing individuals for trafficing yet neither of those arrested were for that crime. Leads me to believe that the main players were not at home. Not to mention just b/c the police didn't advise the media of everything doesn't mean it didn't happen...

"Convicted 2913.51(A) RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY 1 F 5 08/15/2005"
5th degree felony.

"Convicted 2925.03(A)(1) TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA 2 F 5 01/17/2003 "
Felony 5.
"Convicted 2913.51 RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY 1 F 4 01/17/2003"
Felony 4.

These were solely from Summit County, not Akron, not the Falls, not Portage County. 5 felony convictions since 2002. More than the vast majority of Americans, or probably the population of the planet, rack up in a lifetime. I just don't have the time, or desire, to research the entire criminal record of this clown. But since you seem determined to defend him, shouldn't you at least research some?

But I am still trying to find the purpose of posting someone's criminal record, especially a dead man's. Oh, this means it is okay to be shot to death oh, ok, I see ur point!

@olfuzzster...he%% ain't freezin over yet and no apology will be given to persons who just simply snoop and post bout other peoples lives but complain if the same is done to them.

Nearly spit my coffee thru my nose laughing at this one!! Thanks for the comic relief. I mean, you are always at least mildly entertaining, but these kinds of comments are the height of hilarity.

Of COURSE people are arrested and let go all the time - but the SAME person over and over again?!?! Sort of strains credulity and critical thinking, doesn't it? Of course, these were actually convictions, not mere arrests, which invalidates your statement in it's entirety, but I digress...
