Guilty plea in Cleveland corruption probe

By Associated Press

CLEVELAND: A high-profile defendant in a corruption investigation in Cleveland has pleaded guilty.

U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen O'Malley accepted the guilty pleas from for J. Kevin Kelley on Wednesday on all 11 counts, including conspiracy, bribery, theft, mail fraud and tax fraud.

No sentencing date was set for Kelley, a former Parma school board member and Cuyahoga County engineer's office computer manager.

Another defendant was due in court later today and two others were to appear tomorrow.

The FBI says a target of the investigation is county Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, who hasn't been charged and denies any wrongdoing. He began a leave as Democratic county chairman last week for what he says is the good of the party and to take time to defend himself.

let a blue collar worker get caught taking a stapler or a roll of tape then you would spend 10,000 on a lawyer and still get a prison number!
