Garbage truck operator finds live puppy in trash

By Associated Press

CADIZ, OHIO: An Ohio sanitation worker is credited with saving an ailing puppy found in the garbage.

Authorities in Cadiz in eastern Ohio say Brent Mathias was at the end of his rounds early Tuesday when he discovered a small dog poking its head out of a sealed trash bag he had picked up in his truck.

Mathias said it appeared the animal had been placed in the trash deliberately.

He alerted the local humane society, and the animal was taken to the Cadiz Animal Clinic. Dr. Scott Pendleton says the 8-month-old female mixed breed dog suffered from dehydration, diarrhea, low blood sugar and fever but is expected to recover and be put up for adoption.

Authorities are asking for tips that will lead to the puppy's previous owner.

At 8 months old, that is getting to be a good sized dog. People are sick for doing that!

I have a kitten that I rescued from my yard that a feral cat abandoned. He's coming home on Monday and he'll be almost 6 weeks old. He was only 2 to 3 when I found him and he's strong as nails for a tiny little guy!

I just can't believe what makes the news anymore ... Not that I am unsympathetic to the dogs / pups plight. (I bottle fed two lab pups, every 2 hours for weeks, that were rescued from a dumpster 20 years ago) I hope the pup has a quick recovery ...

Yesterday, on the news, they talked about a hen that laid a huge egg and then died! Oh my ... It just cracks me up! (No pun intended!)

How about we find the jerk wad that did this and put them in a trash bag to see how they like it. I can not stand people who do this kind of thing.
