Two Wayne County teenagers were transported to Akron Children's Hospital after they were struck by a car Monday afternoon while walking along state Route 226 in Wooster Township.
Lori Smetzer, 42, was driving a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon at about 3 p.m. when she veered off the right side of the road to avoid hitting a vehicle that had slowed down in front of her, according to an Ohio Highway Patrol report.
Smetzer was traveling south when she hit the 13-year-old and 14-year old, who were walking north, with the left side of her car.
The teens were in stable condition Monday.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
