Police seize marijuana from Wadsworth home

By Beacon Journal staff

Wadsworth police raided a home this week, seizing an indoor marijuana growing operation and several thousand dollars in cash.

William R. Duncan, 25, of First Street, was arrested following the raid on his home, police said. He was charged with cultivating marijuana.

Wadsworth police and the Medway Drug Enforcement Agency searched the home Monday morning.

Police say they recovered marijuana plants in different stages of growth, along with cocaine, prescription drugs and more than $12,000 in cash. City firefighters were needed to remove the contraband and evidence.

Police say the investigation is continuing and more charges could be filed. Anyone with information on this or any crime in Wadsworth can call police at 330-334-1511, or by e-mailing wadsworthpd@gmail.com. Anonymous tips can be left at 330-335-2769.

Sounds like you live in fear of breaking the law. Don't be scared...prison is full of people that weren't scared to try something stupid. You will get there one day, I'm sure!

@peeper- I don;t live in fear of my government. This year marks 40 years of me smoking marijuana on a daily basis.

I have a high school diploma, graduated college, worked since I was 14 yrs old, paid all child support for one child from first marriage, raised three boys, worked in Information Sytems for over 18 years, worked in a hospital for 14 years in Information Systems, Own my own business now, Own 2 cars and 2 homes and have never been in trouble with the law ever.

Gandhi says "It is unmanly for a man to follow ridiculous laws, it is our duty to break them". Anything else is being a lazy coward.

@Mars Bonfire: same post as last night on another story.I'm happy for you that you have something to brag about and are evidently proud of but as of today it is still illegal. As for all your accomplishments, good for you. I guess I'm more of a success than you because I have 3 homes, 4 cars,a boat, and a successful marriage of 28 years with 4 children and no child support. And all this without your grass for all your success. Question is,who is better off in the long run??

this is at B RADICAL... I totallt agree with you!! I have known him and his family for yrs!!! this man HAS NOTHING and by NOTHING i mean NOTHING on his record at all!!! NOT A CRIMINAL bone in his body!!! He loves his wife and children unconditionally and HE ALWAYS made sure they were taking care of, and since we are in a recession, ppl should take into consideration that he did what HE HAD to take care of them!!! His children have what they need!! His wife depends on him to pay bills well with no jobs in this economy how could he do that?!?! How could he take care of his children?!!? there is WAYYY worse going on!! Come on wadsworth is the CITY that DOESNT SLEEP, so whats that tell ya!!

Wadsworth is full of drugs and anyone that thinks otherwise is completely ignorant or misinformed. Pot should be legal anyways. Also, the people on this site that comment every single day, every single case and say "It's illegal.. period" without taking into consideration even one thing.......... I seriously hope you all get caught breaking some kind of stupid a** law and get a record. Then maybe you will get your head out of your a** for once in your life instead of thinking that you're so much better than everyone that has gotten caught!!!

I have to say that I think all the drug laws are asinine. Obviously they DONT WORK. We have thousands and thousands of people in jail on drug related charges. We don't need laws, we need people to start being parents to their children and setting the example. That is not the governments job. Drugs do not create the violence and problems. Keeping them illegal does. That is why gangs and cartels flourish. Not only that but we are losing BILLIONS, yes BILLIONS in tax dollars. So we could have taxed this guy and fixed a road or something. But no, we to SPEND money to arrest, detain, charge and sentence this man. Not to mention paying a parole officer to watch him after his sentence. Are you people blind??

just as big of a crime as the man arrested yesterday for making indecent exposure who was making coffee, nude in his own home, at 5:30 a.m.

we need to recover this country from the rich clucks that have stolen it and several trillion of our tax dollars we haven't even paid yet...can you imagine if robbers could collect iou's in holdups like our congressmen can? "meet me back here next year with the thousand dollars you owe me from today's robbery"

we are a nation of pushovers, if not cowards.
