The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force nabbed a fugitive wanted in Louisiana in downtown Wooster Tuesday.
Melanie Marie Hearn, 32, was wanted on a rape charge and for a probation violation for prior cocaine convictions.
Authorities say Hearn faces charges that she witnessed the rape of a 6-year-old and failed to take action against it.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Western Louisiana developed information that Hearn had fled to Wooster.
She is in the Wayne County Jail awaiting extradition.
