Man found dead in North Akron home is identified

Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office have identified the man whose body was found in a North Akron home Thursday afternoon.

The body of Brian Humphries, 24, was discovered in his home in the 800 block of Dayton Street at 4:20 p.m. Humphries was pronounced dead at 4:58 p.m.

He died from an apparent gunshot wound, the medical examiner's office said Friday. Humphries' death is being investigated as a suspected homicide.

An autopsy will be performed today.
