An urgently arranged fundraising dinner and silent auction have been set for 7 p.m. Friday (social hour at 6 p.m.) at Skyland Pines banquet facilities, 3550 Columbus Road N.E., Canton, with proceeds going to Christopher Lewis.
Lewis, 57, who received treatment at Mercy Medical Center for pancreatic cancer, was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic to have the tumor removed when it was discovered the cancer had spread to other organs.
It was recommended that he undergo chemotherapy and radiation. The Canton man, however, chose to forego the treatment and live out his life to the fullest, thanking God for every day he has.
Friends are raising funds to help pay for Lewis' medical bills and his funeral expenses.
Gifts for the silent auction are still needed.
Dinner tickets are $50 ($25 is tax deductible). For more information or a reservation, please call 330-284-3210.
