Ralph F. Witt

Ralph F. Witt grew up in Akron and graduated from Buchtel High School in 1943.

He was drafted right out of high school and served in the Army in the Pacific.

He and his wife, Margaret Joan “Jo” Wallace Witt, had two children, Maggie “Meg” Lee and Sylvester Witt III, and three grandchildren.

Jo Witt died in December 2001.

Witt worked in sales and operations in the trucking business for about 40 years and later worked as a real estate photographer.

Along with volunteering at the Summit County Historical Society, he works at the St. Sebastian Catholic School cafeteria, helps his daughter deliver West Side Leader newspapers and has been an usher at St. Sebastian Church for more than 30 years.
