America Today - Civility Series

To mark Iraq War anniversary, send us your recollections

U.S. forces invaded Iraq on March 20, 2003.

The government has reported 4,486 Americans were killed in the Iraq War before the last combat troops pulled out of the country in August 2010.

The Beacon Journal would like to hear from people who served in the war — and also from those whose lives were affected by someone else’s deployment — as the 10th anniversary approaches.

In 150 words or less, email your Iraq story to: iraqat10yearsabj@gmail.com.

Include your name, age, home address, phone number, branch of service and rank so we can contact you. If you have a photo of yourself from Iraq, please include that as well. Also, please attach a current photo of yourself, if possible.

On March 17, the Beacon Journal plans to publish some of the submitted stories. Others will be included on Ohio.com.
