Volunteers

Hospice of the Western Reserve — Volunteer training classes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 3 and 10 at Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 S. High St., Akron. Teens and nonclinical volunteers attend only the first four hours of class on Feb. 3 while most other volunteers attend both classes. Frosty 5 Mile & Mistletoe Mile Fun Run Holiday Race — Dec. 24 at First and Main in Hudson. The Mistletoe Mile starts at 8 a.m. and the Frosty 5 Mile starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration: Frosty 5, $30; Mistletoe Mile, $10. The race benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland and Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Register for the race at www.frosty5.com.

The Medina County Commissioners’ 15th Annual Charity Ball — 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at Weymouth Country Club, 3946 Weymouth Road, Medina. With a donation of $60 per ticket, attendees can attend black-tie-optional event featuring a social hour, sit-down dinner and dancing.
