A Copley man, 21, was charged with drug abuse and possession of heroin. Police said the man was asleep in his vehicle in the 900 block of East Exchange Street.
A Battles Avenue man, 56, was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop.
A Benn Court man, 28, was charged with receiving stolen property. Police said the man was in possession of a stolen .380 pistol that was taken in a burglary.
A West South Street woman, 39, was charged with felony permitting drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug instruments. Police said officers executed a search warrant at her residence and found scales, syringes and less than a gram of heroin.
Nephews of an East Hopocan Avenue woman told police Oct. 4 that they believe she has been taken advantage of financially by two men who had done work around her house. Police were told the woman paid them about $38,000.
A Shannon Avenue resident told police Oct. 6 that she took off her engagement ring, valued at $500, before showering and noticed the next day the ring had been stolen from on top of her bedroom dresser.
A Medina Line Road woman reported Oct. 10 she received a check from a buyer on Craigslist that was for considerably more than the price of the item she was selling. The “buyer” asked that the woman to wire the difference. She later discovered that the check was counterfeit.
A Fox Hollow Drive resident called police Oct. 3 to report that someone had stolen $1,000 from her checking account.
A Bevan Street man, 26, was jailed for aggravated menacing Oct. 3 after a neighbor said the suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s face for texting the suspect’s wife.
An Akron man, 66, was charged Oct. 14 with aggravated menacing. An Akron man, 35, told police he was traveling on state Route 8 at Broad Boulevard when the suspect waved a handgun at him while driving alongside his vehicle.
A Ninth Street man, 21, was charged Oct. 12 with possession of drug abuse instruments. Police said the man admitted that nearly two dozen hypodermic needles he possessed were for heroin use.
A Gaylord Grove woman reported Oct. 9 someone assaulted her son, 12, as he was leaving school. The child was injured when his head was rammed into a chain-link fence.
A home in the 400 block of Hardman Drive was broken into Oct. 14. An iPhone and television were stolen.
An apartment in the 800 block of Gaylord Grove was broken into Oct. 10. Property valued at nearly $2,000 was taken.

A Graham Road man, 88, reported Oct. 11 someone he knows made about $7,500 in unauthorized withdrawals from his checking account using his debit card.

An Akron woman, 19, was charged with stealing $129.24 in merchandise from Target on Oct. 15. Store security noticed the woman placing the items in her backpack. She has been banned from Target for one year.
A Copley Circle man, 21, was charged with theft Oct. 14. He allegedly tried to steal an iPhone case worth $16.99 from Walgreens. He has been banned from Walgreens indefinitely.
An Ashton Drive man, 45, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 9 after a deputy was told the suspect threatened to harm a woman at the house and harass the children.
A Treeview Drive resident told a sheriff’s deputy Sept. 23 that someone entered her home and stole a gold chain with medallions as well as coins and other items, total value $7,200.
A Sleepy Hollow Drive man told investigators Oct. 5 that 15 fishing rods, reels and other fishing gear were stolen from his boat at Dano’s Lakeside Pub on South Main Street.
A woman house-sitting a home on Cinnamon Lane called police Oct. 13 to report that someone had broken in and taken $500 in change and electronics.
An Argonne Street resident called police Oct. 13 to report that someone had broken a basement window and stole jewelry from the residence.
A West Comet Road resident, 31, was charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint Oct. 4 after his girlfriend said she was held against her will and thrown to the ground several times as she tried to leave the residence.
A woman, 31, sought since July 14 after a fire at the family’s Gowanda Avenue home believed linked to a methamphetamine lab operation, was arrested Oct. 7 on charges of illegal manufacture of drugs, endangering children, tampering with evidence and assembly or possession of chemicals to make methamphetamine. The suspect turned herself in to police and was jailed.
A Sanitarium Road woman said her home was entered Oct. 5 and cash, a laptop computer and other items, total value $1,820, were stolen.
A Kenwood Drive man, 63, was charged Oct. 14 with domestic violence and resisting arrest. He is accused of threatening a family member and struggling with police while being placed under arrest.

A Baird Road woman, 60, reported Oct. 12 someone took her wallet from her purse while she shopped at Walmart, 3520 Hudson Drive.
Police were called to a Cove Drive home Oct. 8 for a report of someone attempting to break through a window. The homeowner told officers that it was her son, who was attempting to break back into the house after being kicked out. Later in the day, two residents on the street called police to report that their vehicles had either been vandalized or broken into.
Police were called to Westchester Drive Oct. 12 after a homeowner discovered that someone used a pumpkin to smash the mailbox.
Officers were called to Oakbrooke Drive Oct. 14 after someone complained that a neighbor had left a lawnmower running unattended.

A Windfall Road resident called police Oct. 13 to report that a 19-year-old male friend stole her cellphone. She noticed the phone missing two weeks ago and then saw pictures online of the man with her phone.
Officers were called to the Blue Heron Golf Course Oct. 12 to ask a photographer not to take senior pictures on the course.
A woman, 46, was charged with assault Oct. 14. She is accused of entering an East Bergey Street home and assaulting two men, 43 and 47.
Police are investigating an Oct. 15 report of a burglary in the 4200 block of Tulip Trail.
A woman reported Oct. 15 her two daughters were followed by a man in a late model black car as they walked to school. They told police the man was in his 20s, with brown hair and a black T-shirt. The girls said the man followed them, driving very slowly, until they ran to a neighbor’s house for help. The man then drove away.
A woman, 23, was charged Oct. 14 with assault and aggravated burglary.
Police charged a Streetsboro woman, 20, with two counts of forgery and one count of receiving stolen property Oct. 11.
Police received a 911 call about a shooting at 8:44 a.m. Oct. 14 They found a man north of Howe Road between Sunnybrook and Mogadore roads. The man had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital. His condition was not known. The case is under investigation, and no other information was released. Police said there is “no indication that any gunman remains in the area, posing any type of danger to the public.”
Two Franklin Avenue residences, one in the 600 block and one in the 1500 block, were burglarized Oct. 14. Electronics and money were taken.
A Canal Fulton man, 45, was charged with felony theft and two misdemeanors Oct. 6 after he allegedly selected an $89 toaster oven, opened the packaging and completed a fraudulent return for the new item before being stopped outside by police.
A Thicket Street Northwest man told police that between Sept. 23 and Oct. 4 someone stole a 1.5-carat diamond ring and wedding band, total value $30,000, from his bedroom.
A ThinkPad and case plus coins, total value $7,028, were reported stolen from a Waterford Avenue Northwest home Sept. 30.
Credit cards stolen from a Knightsbridge Avenue Northwest resident’s vehicle were used at various locations totaling more than $1,000, the victim told police Oct. 2.
An Erie Avenue Northwest woman, 21, was booked for domestic violence Oct. 7 after she and her sister engaged in a fight because the suspect was verbally abusing their grandmother and grabbed her arm, police said the sister told officers.
A Canton woman, 35, of 38th Street Southwest, was jailed Oct. 4 on charges of felony theft of an elderly person and forgery while a male, 47, was being sought on a warrant for complicity after they were accused of stealing at least $11,620 from a city resident for whom home care was being provided. Police were investigating the apparent forgery of checks stolen in a 10-month period.
A Canton man, 30, of 12th Street Northwest, was charged with aggravated burglary and four traffic offenses Oct. 4 after a Stark sheriff’s report noted that he was stopped at Martindale Road and 30th Street Northeast and then fled on foot before being caught.
A woman, 29, of Melrose Circle, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 8 after she was accused of punching her boyfriend in the face during an argument.
Breaking and entering
Clothing, a love seat and other items were reported stolen Oct. 10 and 11 from storage units at Wooster Store and Lock It, 96 N. Geyers Chapel Road, Wooster Township.
Two handguns, $100 and a purse, total value $1,100, were reported stolen Oct. 12 from a residence in the 13100 block of Church Road, Baughman Township.
An East Union Township resident reported Oct. 12 that $10,000 in cash was stolen from a home in the 9300 block of East Lincoln Way.
Four tractor lawn mowers valued at $8,125 were reported stolen Oct. 14 from Sterling Farm Equipment, 13893 Kauffman Ave., Milton Township.
A 2002 Volkswagen valued at $1,500 was reported taken Oct. 12 from a residence in the 12400 block of Church Road, Baughman Township.
A Wooster man, 70, was arrested on charges of trafficking in drugs and possession of cocaine after he was found with the drugs in the 300 block of West North Street.
A Medina man, 20, was arrested Oct. 12 on two counts of trafficking in drugs and two counts of possession of drugs at a restaurant in the 4100 block of Burbank Road.
Four watches, four handguns and an Xbox, total value $11,350, were reported stolen Oct. 7 from a residence in the 700 block of Belmont Street.
